Trinity Festival Schedule of Events - 2017

Friday, August 18th

11:00 A.M.      Author Kelly Russell has adapted "Smokeroom on the Kyle" the Newfoundland and Labrador classic of his famous father, Ted Russell, as an illustrated book for children. Kelly will be in the garden of the Trinity Visitor Centre for a reading and book signing event. Please note that in case of rain this event will take place at the Hiscock House.

2:30 P.M.: Trinity Historical Society Annual Auction & Garden Party
                  Museum Garden, Trinity - $2.00 Admission gets you your auction paddle

7:00 P.M.: Rising Tide Theatre Performance - Round Robin

8:30 P.M.: Rising Tide Theatre Performance - Harry Hibbs

10:30 P.M.: Dance at Rocky’s Music by Koodoos - $10.00 per person

Saturday, August 19th

9:00 – 10:30 A.M.: Festival Breakfast at the Parish Hall  - $8.00 adult / $5.00 child                                            Scrambled Eggs, Bacon, Toast, Juice, Tea/Coffee

10:00 A.M.: Yoga, Lunch and Hike at Port Rexton Brewery. Lunch provided by Two Whales. Lunch to be followed by a hike of Fox Island Trail, Champney's West.
Cost $30.00 per person. Please register by visiting -

10:00 A.M.:  Scavenger Hunt for Children. Pick up your kit at the Visitor Centre,
                     West Street. Limited number available.

1:00 P.M.: Bingo at the Parish Hall Doors open 12:30 P.M.
                   $5.00 per person includes 2 cards
                   There will be 20 games of Bingo, including the Jackpot game.
                    Prizes will be similar to those at a Baby or Wedding Shower.

2:00 P.M.: Obstacle Course 16+ On the Field - Teams of 2, Free of charge
                   Face Painting on the Field

2:00 P.M.: Rising Tide Theatre - The New Founde Lande Trinity Pageant

2:30 P.M.: Kids Games and Activities on the Field - Free of charge
                 Pudding Drop and Jell-o Eating Contests

3:00-4:00 P.M.: Fish Pond on the Field - $2.00 per cast - every cast wins a prize
3:00-4:00 P.M.: Root Beer Floats available for purchase $2.00 each

4:00-6:00 P.M.: Chili Supper at the Parish Hall Eat-In or Take-Out. Includes a dinner roll                and drink (water, pop tea/coffee) -  $6.00 per person.

5:30 P.M.: Rising Tide Theatre - Dinner Theatre

8:00 P.M.: Beer and Cracker Contest, Rocky’s Place 19+ event - $2.00 per person
                  Men's, Women's and Mixed Division (Teams of 4) - $20.00 per team

8:30 P.M. Rising Tide Theatre - This Marvellous Terrible Place

10:30 P.M. Festival Dance at Rocky’s Place - Music by One Mike Stand -
                   Admission $5.00
                   BBQ items available throughout the Dance.

*Please note – Admission to the Beer and Cracker Contest does not grant you admission to the Dance – two separate events that happen to be at the same venue!

Sunday, August 20th

12 noon ACW Cold Plate Take-Out  at the Parish Hall - $10.00 each

1:00 P.M. Log Sawing on the Field - $10.00 per team
                Men’s, Women’s and Mixed Teams of 2

1:30 P.M. Tug of War (Teams of 4) - Free

2:00 P.M.  Twister!  On the Field Ages 16+ - Teams of 2 - Free of charge

2:00 P.M. Face painting on the Field

2:00 –4:00 P.M. –  Church of the Most Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church                                                    Participatory birdsong performance, ALL WELCOME.  
                               On exhibition at Lester-Garland and Hiscock House artists:
                               Elizabeth Macintosh and Frank Lapointe presented by
                               Bonavista Biennale.

3:00-4:00 P.M. Fish Pond for Children on the Field - $2.00 per cast - every cast wins a                                prize

3:00 - 4:00 P.M. Root Beer Floats available for purchase $2.00 each

4:00 P.M. Walk the Plank - to be held by the Beach near the Court House
 Contestants: Lee Vokey, Tyler Vokey, Arlene Piercey, Keshia Clarke,
Tom Kennedy and Melissa Royle

6:00 P.M. Live Music on the Field

            6:00-8:00 P.M.                        Monto
            8:00 the Fireworks      The Colony

8:00 P.M.: Rising Tide Theatre - The Nobleman’s Wedding

Please Note the Following will be on-going throughout the Festival – Beach Volleyball Tournament, Horseshoe Tournament, BBQ items, Bouncy Castle, Ticket Sales, Beer Tent, Toll Gate and Games of Chance. Beach Volleyball and Horseshoe Tournaments you must have registered in advance in order to have been scheduled to play. No sign-ups on the days of the events.

Please note that the above times for events are approximate and may start a little earlier or later than anticipated.  Show up early!!  Some events may not go ahead if there are not enough participants
